Pet Friendly Restaurants
Finding Pet Friendly Restaurants
If you decide to take your pet with you on vacation then you need to do more than finding a pet friendly hotel. Finding pet friendly lodging isn’t that hard since there are many options to choose from throughout the country. In addition, it is pretty easy to find activities for you and your pet while on vacation such as walking tours, parks and other local facilities.
However, the difficult issue when it comes to traveling with your pets is finding pet friendly restaurants. Many hotels won’t let you leave pets unattended in your room, but what happens if you want to run out and grab a bite to eat quickly?
Choosing A Restaurant
Pets are normally limited to outside dining areas only even at pet friendly restaurants because of health laws, or sometimes they will be allowed indoors if there is no food or drink served in the area. So it is best to look for restaurants that have outdoor seating.
In the bargain, health laws prohibit pets from eating or drinking out of restaurant glasses or dishes. Therefore, when visiting pet friendly restaurants you should bring your own containers or ask the waiter for a disposable dish.
However, some pet friendly restaurants offer special services for pets such as individual bowls or special menu items. Two of these types of restaurants include the Bully Ranch in Vail, Colorado and the Tin Shed Garden Café in Portland, Oregon. You may even find a location that has a bar with special happy hours for pets that allow you to bring along your pets.
Even when going to pet friendly restaurants you will want to following proper etiquette tips and be considerate of other individuals around you. Some tips that you should always follow include keeping your pet on a leash at all times. Make sure you have a pet that is well behaved, you don’t want them barking constantly or begging for food.
While eating at pet friendly restaurants make sure your pet sits close to you or under the table so they don’t get in the way of restaurant workers carrying trays of food or drinks to and from the dining area.
So the next time you plan a vacation with you pet make sure you look for pet friendly restaurants in addition to hotels and recreational activities. This allows both you and your pet to get the most out of your vacation and enjoy time away from home.
